Job Description

East Africa Gate (EAG) is seeking a talented, self-motivated, and highly organized Freelance Social Media Manager to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive social media strategies for various client accounts, ensuring alignment with their specific marketing goals and brand identities.
Create, curate, and manage engaging and high-quality written, image, and video content tailored for all major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube).
Schedule and publish posts, stories, and reels using appropriate tools, ensuring optimal timing and maximum reach and engagement.
Proactively monitor social media channels for industry trends, brand mentions, customer inquiries, and competitor activities, responding promptly and professionally.
Analyze social media performance data, generate insightful reports, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize future strategies and achieve client KPIs.
Manage and optimize social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, audience targeting, ad creation, and performance tracking.
Collaborate effectively with graphic designers, videographers, and content writers to ensure all visual and textual content is on-brand, high-quality, and resonates with target audiences.
Stay continuously up-to-date with the latest social media best practices, tools, technologies, and platform changes.
Actively engage with online communities and key influencers to build brand awareness, foster positive relationships, and expand client reach.
Provide strategic recommendations for content creation, community engagement tactics, and overall campaign optimization based on performance data and market insights.
Ensure all social media activities comply with ethical standards, client guidelines, and relevant data privacy regulations.

Required Skills

Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Social Media Manager, Digital Marketing Specialist, or a similar role.
Excellent practical knowledge of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and their respective best practices.
Solid understanding of social media KPIs, web traffic metrics, content marketing principles, and basic SEO principles.
Demonstrable experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Later).
Exceptional ability to deliver creative, compelling, and effective content across various formats (text, image, video).
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Amharic.
Highly analytical and adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and superior time management abilities, with a proven capacity to consistently meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
Demonstrable experience with social media advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
Proficiency in basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) for content creation.
Proven track record of significantly growing social media engagement, followership, and driving conversions for client accounts.
Prior experience working in an agency environment or effectively managing multiple brands/clients simultaneously.
In-depth knowledge of digital marketing trends and consumer behavior specific to the East African market.
