PR Research & Social Media Marketing Intern

Clean Data Alliance

Clean Data Alliance (CDA) is hiring two Research & Writing Interns

We’re looking for two interns with strong research and writing skills to support public relations, marketing, and social media initiatives. This is a foundational role. Ideal if you like deep research, clear thinking, and turning complex information into usable, public-facing materials.

Bonus if you want to be on the ground floor of a nonprofit redefining data ownership, use, and security in the digital economy.

We’re building the Clean Data Alliance to restore dignity, agency, and truth to how data is collected and used. If that matters to you, this is a real place to contribute.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct in-depth research to support PR, marketing, and social media strategy
  • Perform media and press research (reporters, outlets, coverage trends, pitch angles)
  • Research speaking opportunities, events, and industry platforms
  • Support content research for social media, thought leadership, and marketing campaigns
  • Assist with writing and drafting:
  • Research briefs
  • Pitch notes
  • Press release inputs
  • Content outlines
  • Organize research into a centralized Marketing folder for PR, speaking, and social media use

What You’ll Deliver

  • Clear, well-written research summaries and insight briefs
  • Organized media, reporter, and event lists
  • Draft materials that support PR outreach, marketing campaigns, and social content
  • Posting and engagement support on LinkedIn and Bluesky
  • Possible support on YouTube research and prep

What Success Looks Like

  • Research is accurate, clear, and easy to use
  • Materials are organized and execution-ready
  • You proactively surface ideas, trends, and opportunities through research

Reporting & Management

You’ll report to and be managed by Michelle Lam, Founder of ML Bklynite Media Public Relations

  • Award-winning PR professional
  • 17 years of experience building brands
  • Background in Investment Banking, Hospitality, and CPG
  • Actively building a presence in data ownership and data security within the tech sector

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Interest in public relations, marketing, and content creation
  • Comfortable synthesizing complex information into clear written outputs
  • Motivated by work that has real-world impact

Compensation & Structure

  • Unpaid internship for college credit (must meet your institution’s requirements)
  • $1,000 stipend for the term

CDA is working to redefine data ownership, use, and security in the digital economy. If you want to be close to that work from the beginning—and see how ideas move from theory to public action—this is that seat.
