Remote Truss Designer

Overview

We’re looking for a talented Truss Designer / Estimator to join our fully remote design team using Alpine software. . The ideal candidate is a detail-driven professional with hands-on experience in wood truss engineering, material estimating, and construction documentation. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of residential and light commercial projects while collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and sales representatives.

Responsibilities

• Produce efficient, code-compliant roof and floor truss designs using Alpine software.
• Generate accurate takeoffs, framing layouts, and cost proposals.
• Analyze architectural and structural drawings to ensure correctness and buildability.
• Partner with engineering, production, and sales to develop optimized project solutions.
• Detect and address design discrepancies prior to fabrication.
• Keep project records organized and meet all submission deadlines.
• Communicate proactively with clients and internal teams to clarify expectations.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with Alpine truss design software.
• Strong understanding of structural wood behavior, building codes, and load path design.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• 2–4 years of truss design or estimating experience required.
• Education in engineering or construction technology is preferred.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
