Position Overview

seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient NX Programmer with strong experience in NX 2027, multi-axis CNC programming, and job-shop style component programming. This is a full-time, fully remote contract role, supporting an end customer directly in day-to-day planning, tooling direction, and programming workload.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience programming across a variety of machine tools—from 3-axis lathes to complex 5-axis milling platforms—and can operate with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Independently create CNC programs using Siemens NX 2027 CAM
Program a wide range of job-shop style components, from simple to complex geometries
Develop toolpaths for machine tools including:
DMU MonoBlock
DMU DuoBlock (5-axis)
CTX and NTX mill-turn machines
3-axis lathes and 5-axis mills
Collaborate directly with the end customer for:
Daily project planning
Machining strategy
Tooling decisions
Programming priorities
Maintain proper project documentation, setup information, revision history, and program organization
Provide expert recommendations for machining approaches, feeds/speeds, and fixture setups
Ensure programs are optimized for safety, efficiency, and manufacturability
Communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and shop-floor teams
Deliver accurate, clean, and production-ready G-code fully aligned to customer standards

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in NX CAM programming, including NX 2027
Strong background with multi-axis programming: 3-axis lathe, 4-axis, and 5-axis mills
Hands-on experience with:
DMU MonoBlock
DMU DuoBlock 5-axis
CTX & NTX mill-turn platforms
Ability to work fully self-directed with minimal supervision
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Excellent project organization and documentation discipline
Experience supporting job-shop environments with rapid, varied programming tasks

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working directly with external customers or suppliers
Familiarity with Siemens post processors, tooling libraries, and machine simulation
Experience optimizing toolpaths for high-mix/low-volume production
