Social Media and Content Creation Intern

Time Commitment: 10–15 hours/week

We’re a technology startup in the consumer app space, focused on developing a dating platform with a differentiated user experience and a strong emphasis on brand and community building.
Role Overview
As a Social Media & Content Creation Intern, you’ll support the launch and growth of a differentiated dating app by helping build brand awareness and reach new audiences through creative, short-form content and storytelling.
This is a great opportunity for students interested in graphic design, marketing, branding, digital media, and especially influencer marketing to gain real startup experience and portfolio-worthy work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with content creation and scheduling across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter), focusing on engaging Gen Z audiences.
- Conduct influencer outreach: Identify and contact micro-influencers in the dating, lifestyle, and wellness spaces to collaborate on promotional content, teasers, and partnerships.
- Perform still photo design: Create visually appealing static images for posts, stories, and ads using tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator.
- Enhance existing content: Use graphic design skills to edit and inject brand assets (e.g., logos, color schemes, taglines) into video clips and photos provided by the team.
- Conduct competitive research: Analyze how other dating apps approach social media, including post frequency (number of posts per week), influencer partnerships (estimate how many influencers they engage), and engagement metrics (identify top-performing posts based on likes, shares, comments, and views).
- Monitor analytics and report on performance to optimize strategies.
- Contribute fresh ideas based on current trends to build hype around our waitlist and launch.
Qualifications
- Current college student pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends, especially among Gen Z users.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and basic video editing tools.
- Excellent communication skills and a creative mindset.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a startup environment.
- Extra consideration given to applicants with an existing social media following who can act as an influencer-like ambassador for Knows Best, leveraging their personal brand to promote our app authentically.
