Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve software issues across large open-source codebases
• Write, test, and validate solutions for complex technical problems
• Contribute to backend systems, APIs, and infrastructure supporting AI workflows
• Debug and reproduce issues locally to ensure accurate resolution
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers on real-world AI applications

Skills

• Strong years of professional software engineering experience
• Active contributions to one or more of the following repositories: astropy, django, matplotlib, pytest, scikit-learn, sphinx, sympy
• Strong proficiency in Python, APIs, and structured testing
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written communication and documentation abilities
• Based in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand
