Responsibilities
- Analyze and resolve software issues across large open-source codebases
- Write, test, and validate solutions for complex technical problems
- Contribute to backend systems, APIs, and infrastructure supporting AI workflows
- Debug and reproduce issues locally to ensure accurate resolution
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers on real-world AI applications
Skills
- Strong years of professional software engineering experience
- Active contributions to one or more of the following repositories: astropy, django, matplotlib, pytest, scikit-learn, sphinx, sympy
- Strong proficiency in Python, APIs, and structured testing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written communication and documentation abilities
- Based in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand
