Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Per Diem Social Media Moderator to join our remote team. In this contract role, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive and safe online environment for our clients’ communities by monitoring and moderating user-generated content across various social media platforms. This is a critical role in maintaining brand integrity and fostering healthy online interactions. You will work on an ‘as needed’ basis, providing flexible support to manage content flow and uphold community guidelines. This position is 100% remote, offering the flexibility to work from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor user-generated content on various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, forums) for adherence to community guidelines and terms of service.
Identify and take appropriate action on content that violates policies, including removing posts, comments, and messages, or escalating to senior moderators/management.
Respond to user inquiries and complaints in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner, guiding them on community rules and best practices.
Document moderation actions and flag recurring issues or trends for further analysis.
Stay up-to-date with evolving social media trends, platform changes, and client-specific guidelines.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent application of moderation policies.
Contribute to a positive and respectful online community atmosphere.

Required Skills

Excellent written communication skills with strong grammar and spelling in English.
Proven ability to make sound judgments and decisions quickly and consistently.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong understanding of various social media platforms and their functionalities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Adaptability and ability to handle sensitive content with discretion and empathy.
Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace).

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in social media moderation, community management, or content review roles.
Familiarity with moderation tools and content management systems.
Experience working with global brands or diverse online communities.
A keen interest in online communities and digital trends.
Additional language skills are a plus.
