Job Description

Meta is seeking a diligent and empathetic Virtual Social Media Comment Moderator to join our global team. In this 100% remote role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining a positive and safe online environment across Meta’s platforms. You will be responsible for reviewing and moderating user-generated comments to ensure compliance with our community standards and guidelines. This role requires excellent judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering constructive online dialogue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and moderate user comments on various Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Review comments against established community guidelines, policies, and terms of service.
  • Identify and take appropriate action on comments containing hate speech, harassment, misinformation, spam, or other policy violations.
  • Escalate complex or sensitive cases to senior moderators or specialized teams as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of moderation actions and trends.
  • Provide feedback for improving moderation guidelines and tools.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality and data security protocols.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and online community dynamics.
  • Proficiency in using online moderation tools and systems.
  • Strong understanding of internet culture and emerging online trends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in content moderation, community management, or customer support (1+ year).
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience with conflict resolution or de-escalation techniques.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
